Orchard at Altapass

Located in Spruce Pine, N.C. the Orchard at Altapass serves up more attractions than just apples! There are over 40 different varieties of apples from Arkansas Red to Yellow Transparent.

The Orchard has a Monarch butterfly preservation project. In their terrariums the butterflies are raised from all three stages of metamorphosis.

Several events are offered at the Orchard. There is live music programs, Open Mic and JAM sessions. Popular Storytelling Hayrides are offered every Saturday and Sunday. There are also Appalachian Heritage Activities and the Orchard Book Club.

The store offers a variety of Blue Ridge souvenirs like books, music CDs and toys. There's plenty of jams, butters, syrups, salsas, dips and more to choose from as well.
